Brilliant. Don’t believe the ‘experts’. Communication is easy. When you know how to communicate. Credits unavailable. Unfortunately.

Homage to Horst. Thx to Jean-Claude Meert, Graziella Boggiano, and Marcel Veelo for their usual/unusual support. And Béa (stylist) for lending us her underwear 🙂 Sean Hayes Photography
I haven’t posted here in a while. For a very good reason. I’ve been busy doing the work instead of writing about doing it. Productivity has replaced procrastination. And the last 6 months of 2017 have been particularly productive. I’ve worked hard at honing my portrait photography skills and the work is beginning to get to a place I’m happy with. Still a long way to go. Photography really is a journey and not a destination. Although a trite statement, it doesn’t make it any less true. Thank you to all the people who helped me on that journey in 2017 – you know who you are. Much appreciated. Here’s to all of us doing our best to do things better in 2018. Happy New Year to you all.
I’ve been working on promotional photography and design for a very interesting musician over the last couple of months. Originally from the Ivory Coast, AHOUHKa combines Ivorian traditional rhythmic sounds with electro music beats. Her hybrid approach to composing and performing her songs have resulted in a very inventive and original sound. AHOUHKa’s eclectic musical approach, in collaboration with composer Johan Blontrock, could be justifiable compared to the working methodology of Brian Eno or the creative soundscapes of Björk; who both constantly strive to redefine what a song or compositional sound can be. These same searching qualities are to be found in AHOUHKa’s music. Wishing AHOUHKa and her management team the very best of luck with the launch of her innovative and enchanting sound.

It’s been a busy, productive and creative couple of weeks. Got to shoot some interesting people. And some Belgian pop stars for a sponsorship event organised by Orange France. Puggy. They’ll go far. Or further than the massive popularity they already enjoy in Belgium and France. International stardom beckons. Stay tuned. And yes, they are as nice – and as talented – as everyone says they are.
Thanks also to Laura Groeseneken, singer and keyboards with another talented Belgian band Ozark Henry. She has the voice of an angel and the feathers to match.
Blonde-haired Laura Stecca we spotted in a bar in Brussels and my friend and colleague Graziella Boggiano was good enough to broach the delicate subject of requesting a photoshoot. She agreed enthusiastically. Laura is from Venice, Italy and, hopefully, I captured some of the style and grace she has in common with her famous city.
Thanks again to my agent Jean-Claude Meert for making things happen and a big shout-out to an old friend and extremely talented photographer, Thierry Van Biesen, at https://www.ooshot.com Paris, for recommending me for the Puggy Orange France photoshoot. Onwards and upwards.
